Find quick answers to common questions about Eurail and Interrail mobile Passes, seat reservations, activation, refunds and how to travel across Europe by train.

After purchasing your mobile Eurail or Interrail Pass, you will receive the information needed to add it to the Rail Planner app. Once added, you can activate your Pass and start planning your train journeys.
You can activate your mobile Pass before your trip starts. In general, mobile Passes can be activated within a period of up to 11 months from the date of purchase, unless different conditions apply to your specific product.
A travel day is a calendar day during which you can travel by train using your Pass. It usually runs from 00:00 to 23:59 on the same day.
Some trains require seat reservations, especially high-speed trains, night trains and certain international routes. Seat reservations are not always included in the Pass and may involve an additional cost.
For night trains, you usually only need to use one travel day: the day the train departs, as long as the train leaves before 23:59. If you continue travelling after the night train arrives, you may need to use another travel day.
